Can I belly dance while I'm pregnant?
Most likely YES!  Of course you should check with your doctor and if you haven’t exercised prior to your pregnancy, this may not be the time to start a rigorous program.

However, because the movements of belly dance are so body friendly, some of the movements may actually aid in the birthing process.  Of course every woman is different and I am making no medical claims, as I am not a doctor.  To see a beautiful pregnant belly dancer, click here.  She reports having had her own baby within one hour.

In an uncomplicated pregnancy, belly dance can be a gentle way to exercise your mind, body and spirit.  Common sense should prevail.  If you have questions about belly dancing through pregnancy, please consult your doctor.
